Ingredients
(Makes approx. 12-24 biscuits)
200g unsalted butter, softened
100g caster sugar
300g plain flour
Cocoa powder or food colouring
Optional Decorations: icing pens, sprinkles, raisins, chocolate chips, edible eyes

Method – Step-by-Step Instructions
Preheat your oven to 170°C (160°C fan) or Gas Mark 3.
Combine the butter, sugar and flour to resemble breadcrumbs.
To make the different bug colours, split the dough and add cocoa powder or a drop of natural food colouring.
Squeeze the crumbs to make dough balls.
Roll out the base biscuit
Roll the different coloured dough out together on a floured surface and cut the colours into bug shapes and place on top of the base.
Place the biscuit on a lined baking tray. Optional: refrigerate for 20 minutes.
Bake for 10–12 minutes (it should be slightly golden, but this can be hard to see with the colours).
Let cool fully before decorating and or eating.
