Hello and welcome - we’re so glad you’ve found your way here!

We’re Itala and Declan, a creative husband-and-wife team raising two curious, energetic ducklings, Diego and Luca. Life here is full, colourful, sometimes chaotic (in the best way), and always driven by a spirit of creativity, learning, and adventure.

​

 

I’m Itala - a Brazilian-born, UK-based maker at heart, always filling our home with handmade projects, colour, and freshly-made cakes. Often, when the boys are fast asleep, you’ll find me at my sewing machine making gifts for them to discover in the morning, or busy with some kind of DIY project! By day, I’m usually knee-deep in paints, paper, or glue alongside Diego and Luca, working on projects that turn learning into play. I also organise themed home-education sessions and social meet-ups for our local community - something that has deeply inspired the foundations of this blog. I’m passionate about nurturing creativity in the early years, and I love researching, developing, and sharing activities that spark curiosity and imagination.

Declan is every bit as hands-on as I am, though in his own way. He’s an avid baker who fills our home with the smell of fresh bread, handmade pizzas, and even pasta (the boys love getting their hands messy helping him in the kitchen). He’s also a lifelong Lego enthusiast - our resident engineer when the builds get complex - and just as handy with cardboard as he is with bricks, often creating amazing play structures like rockets for the kids. The boys are always eager to join in on his builds. (Fair warning: life with Lego lovers means the occasional find under cupboards, and the odd painful surprise underfoot… creativity has its hazards!) Add to that his love for the outdoors, hiking, and family adventures, and you’ll see why our weekends are rarely quiet.

Together, we’ve built this space as a reflection of our family life and passions. Here, you’ll find:

At the heart of everything we do is the belief that creative learning is for everyone. Whether it’s crafting at the table, baking fresh bread, building a Lego city, or foraging nettles in the woods to make soup, these little moments shape our family life and bring joy to the everyday.
